John has experience in a wide variety of environmental law areas, including:
  • Regulatory compliance, enforcement, and administrative proceedings.
  • Environmental permitting and performance of environmental assessments.
  • Audits pertaining to corporate and real estate transactions and related financing requirements.
John has handled environmental litigation in state and federal courts as well as compliance and enforcement matters involving local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. He has provided a technical analysis of case issues and coordinated consultants and experts on behalf of clients. Moreover, John has provided environmental risk and liability assessments in real estate and corporate transactions that entail air, water, and stormwater permitting and compliance monitoring. He has also completed the Florida circuit court civil mediation training program.

John J. McNally has amassed a wide range of experience. Over the years, he has:
  • Coordinated environmental due diligence and site remediation requirements at numerous commercial properties of varying complexity.
  • Evaluated and participated in cleaning site contamination and utilizing state cleanup programs in commercial real estate transactions.
  • Assessed history and property conditions (e.g., agricultural, recreational, etc.) concerning property redevelopment for commercial and residential use.
  • Participated in Potentially Responsible Party (PRP) group efforts at the Superfund site. Coordinated remedial investigation and assessment, as well as the implementation of remediation.
  • Testified as an expert in various matters concerning the evaluation of environmental conditions and requirements and analysis of remedial action alternatives and associated cost estimates.
  • Represented multiple clients and coordinated PRP group in major environmental contamination cleanup cost recovery claims at Miami International Airport. Handled litigation and settlement.
  • Served as the lead environmental engineer at Miami International Airport. Responsible for evaluating historical property conditions and oversight of regulatory compliance, cleanup, and resolution of enforcement actions.
  • Evaluated hazardous waste contamination and handled RCRA hazardous waste minimization and elimination at U.S. Navy air station facilities.
  • Evaluated air emission inventory and groundwater contamination at NASA Kennedy Space Center, including assessment and remediation of contamination resulting from historical site activities.
  • Coordinated waste characterization and disposal at the U.S. Navy Atlantic Underwater Testing and Experimentation Center (AUTEC) in Andros Island, Bahamas.
  • Evaluated and calculated vapor loss emissions at bulk petroleum storage facilities following state and EPA air quality requirements.
  • Evaluated water resources, waste treatment, and disposal alternatives per development requirements for commercial and residential properties.
